e·nig·ma

A person or thing that is mysterious, puzzling, or difficult to understand.

Meet Enigma

I have a rare auto immune disease. When I was in high school, I would go to the children’s hospital, seeing doctor after doctor, all of who had no idea what was wrong with me. On my birthday, a particularly befuddled doctor, who I had barely even met yet, called me an “enigma.”

It pinched at first to be looked at with such wonder and awe; why couldn’t they figure out what was wrong, and why would they just call me and enigma and then leave the room?

So I sat with my feelings, and really processed what the word meant. I came to this conclusion: There are no black and white answers in this world. Many people want the answers to their questions to be simple, easy to understand. But often times that doesn’t happen.

I’ve dedicated myself to embracing the chaos, confusion, and the enigmas of my life. The world is full of color, and so many different points of view, and I want to explore that within myself and encourage everyone to do the same in their lives.

If it moves you, please feel free to join me on my journey through art, creation and self discovery. I would love to have you. And as I always say:

Embrace Enigma.
